Solutions proposed by s.d.i. cover the needs of automation and remote control and referred to production facilities and energy transmission/distribution in the field of multi-utilities that provide network services (distribution of energy, water, gas, public lighting).

s.d.i. provides control and automation systems for treatment, storage and transportation of gas, in particular by providing for pipelines integrated systems for remote supervision, automation and leak detection.

Equipments and SCADA acquisition systems, produced by s.d.i., are also used in the field of rail transport for traffic control and warning systems to the public.

For each operation field s.d.i. uses products designed and manufactured by its own, both hardware and software. These products are grouped in a integrated platform called eXPert: major components are the DCS systems (Distributed Control System) complete with operator stations, telecontrol systems (telecontrol centers and field devices), control systems based on SCADA/HMI solutions.

s.d.i. uses a "project" approach to the jobs, that enables it to monitor the implementation of systems commissioned, from conceptual design of detail to the implementation, installation, start-up and commissioning .
