Plant editor allows to graphically define the structure of a distributed automation system or remote control system and automatically generate the configuration files to be installed on each node constituting the system; so can be defined also complex systems, from the point of view of architecture, i.e. with redundant SCADA and multiple redundant I/O Server, defining also the communication lines used toward the field devices.

Object editor allows a substantial simplification in the definition of the runtime database system and a simple management tool for telecontrol systems. With the introduction of a concept of classes of objects, are defined and grouped the variables typical of a remote peripheral device; will be sufficient to instance the several times the objects to create the actual plant database

I/O and CPU boards for RTU and DCS

Now available the new cards for use in bus-based architectures communication line with the international std. ISO 11898-1, ISO 11898-2 and ISO 11898-3; the CAN bus is used for the communication between I/O and CPU cards bus; adopting a standard CAN bus opens the possibility of integrating new compatible cards in the system. The design was carried out while maintaining compatibility with previsous STAR parallel bus and allowing (as an option) the implementation of an architecture with dual CAN bus.

TRANSMED (ENI) pipelines

s.d.i. has created for ENI SCOGAT-SERGAZ and Snamprogetti three DCS systems for the compression stations (Station Control System) of the Tunisian tract (370 km) of TRANSMED pipeline called Trans Tunisian Pipeline (TTP); s.d.i has also created the Telecontrol Centre and Telecontrol System for the pipeline (using s.d.i. peripheral RTU). The system is part of the enhancements to boost the gas transport system to achieve a scale equal to 406000 Cm3 / h. The three systems SCS has been made using the platform eXPert STAR/DCS while the telecontrol system of pipeline consists of 47 devices RTU of the family eXPert STAR/QSC, the dispatching center provides a high-reliability solution based on a main centre and a reserve DR (Disaster Recovery) centre made with the product eXPert SCADA.

Potable and waste water network telecontrol for AGS Peschiera

s.d.i. has done for the corporate Gardesana Services (AGS) of Peschiera del Garda the telecontrol, supervision and automation system, dedicated to the integrated management of distribution and collecting service of drinking and sewage water.

The telecontrolled plants are those used for distribution of drinking water (at today for 6 districts: Garda, Peschiera, Valeggio, Castelnuovo, Bardolino, Lazise) and those belonging to the sewerage system of the east coast of the Garda Lake .

s.d.i. participated at the UTILTEC project with co-ordinating and development role; s.d.i. was representative of the association (A.T.I) created for the implementation of the project. They have been a member of the grouping Politecnico di Milano Dipartimento di Elettronica e Informazione, Fondazione Politecnico, Beta80 e MISARC. The project was held with the support of IBM Italia, and the sponsorship of Assolombarda and ANIPLA. The UTILTEC project, sponsored by the Lombardy region (thematic area ICT meta-district ) ended in December 2007. The aim of the project was to identify and develop at a prototype system based on distributed intelligence to allow control of electric loads (from households to those commercial and industrial), the network state monitoring, the determination of detailed lading profile .

s.d.i.automazione industriale participated at the ENERTEC project, focused on the management and monitoring of micro-distributed energy generation, with particular emphasis about the use of renewable sources.The project provides for monitoring and optimizing the concurrent use of solar energy, heat pumps, wind energy.
