s.d.i. provides distributed control systems (DCS) based on its platform HW + SW eXPert DCS.

The system consists of controllers of type STAR (Stations for Acquisition and regulation loop) as they are nodes in the distributed acquisition and control system , and of the operator interface stations eXPert STOP-PC.

The DCS nodes are made by STAR advanced programmable controllers , which play all high-end PLC functions , and the LOOP/MULTILOOP controller. The STAR controllers performs functions of signals acquisition, providing the control functions of plant automation, adjustment, logical sequences and interlocking functionalities. The architecture of STAR DCS is modular and allows the realization of redundant solutions both for the I/O, the CPU and/or network connections.

The logic and regulation functions can be distributed among the various STAR nodes, components of the system; maintenance operations, logic development and development of new pages interface are carried out by the engineering workstation eXPert Config.

The standard used for the diatribuite logic designing and editing is IEC 61131-3; uploading changes to the configuration of points and the logic is made with the system online.
