s.d.i.
spa was founded in 1973, by Mario Bonghi and Leopoldo Izzo, under the name "studio di informatica", where the computer science begins to be
applied to industrial production processes and is among the first
companies in Italy to work in the field of computerized industrial
automation.
Mario Bonghi can be considered one of the pioneers of "Automatica" in Italy and, strong in his Master's in automation computation at MIT, was one of the first employees of Giorgio Quazza, first at the CEA Perego group and then to the Edison Research Center of Automation of Enel.
Leopold Izzo had held management positions at IBM and Honeywell, overseeing the merging of the Computer Group of the latter with the Italian Computer Division of GE that gave birth to H.I.S.I. spa.
s.d.i. handles the real time software development and design, the production and installation of complete hardware and software systems for the supervision, control and adjustment of industrial plants. Captures immediately with important references, supplies turnkey systems for remote offshore oil platforms (ENI-AGIP) and the supervision of thermoelectric power plants (ENEL).
s.d.i. gradually increased its customer base by enlarging its offer to plants automation systems (DCS) and remote control (SCADA / HMI telecontrol systems) which can boast installations of great importance in fields linked to the production of electricity, gas treatment, water purification, distribution of energy (electricity, gas, water, public lighting) and rail transport. Important applications to remember are those relating to gas pipelines and HV sub-station automation systems (power transmission)..
s.d.i. wants to be a proactive partner of his potential customers to search with them the most efficient solutions.
